Todya Ryan Hendriks joined Hunter in the studio for My Morning Mixtape after the release of his 4 track EP 'Quintessence' and collaborative EP with Ethan King, Brandon Rangi-Dixon & Tuhoea Tuteao called The Crop Vol 1. We also revisited some live songs from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard before their set at Laneway on Monday next week + Had a chat about the Laneway timetable & late additions.
After a warm up show last week we moved into full gear this week kicking off the year with the incredible team behind Filth AKL joining Hunter in studio for My Morning Mixtape. We also listened back to a couple of songs that Tiny Ruins performed up at the station last week & revisited some old favourites.

It kicks off in Auckland on Friday May 22 at Double Whammy, before travelling to Hawkes Bay, Nelson, Christchurch, New Plymouth and Wellington. Tareq Baconi is a Palestinian writer, scholar, and activist. His 2018 book on Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas Contained, was shortlisted for a Palestine book award.
His coming-of-age memoir, Fire in Every Direction, was published late last year. Described by Isabella Hammad, author of Enter Ghost, as “moving and generous”, it spans Beirut, Amman, and London while remaining distinctly Palestinian.
