It's a crisp, sunny day in Tāmaki Makaurau and today's show had a bumper crop of chill vibes (Carnivorous Plant Society, venus mae and Cat Power) plus some bangers from boyracer and CCTV. Emma also went into the archive, digging up Toy Love playing live at the Gluepot in 1980 and Bic Runga in the 95bfm studio in 1995. This friday on Fancy New Band we were very lucky to welcome in Just Janie Into the studio! 

Just Janie is a Ōtutahi based indie-folk musician who has just realesed her debut album 'Mythology of the Girls'. During the segemt Janie explained that this is a concept album, "A reaction to nostalgia through a modern lens, the album pays homage to the folk scene of the late sixties and early seventies and deconstructs the rose tinted perspective for the era where women faced a myriad of societal limitations."

The songs Janie has written for this album are so well thought out and magical, this is a Fancy New Band you dont want to miss !
