95bFM Album of the Week: Mainard Larkin - 'Rattlesnake Boy'
Lucky us! Mainard Larkin has just gifted fans Rattlesnake Boy, a charming new album that tugs on the heartstrings.
Mainard Larkin originally broke through rapping as Randa, but has turned his sharp lyricism to the world of alt-country. He enlisted his friend Shannon Fowler (Tom Lark) to produce the record, after Mainard light-heartedly suggested to Shannon that they take a break from making hip hop together and instead make a country record.
Fowler explains: “The album begins with the feeling of being in a fight, moves through a period of self-reflection, and ends with the realization that you’ve got to appreciate what you’ve got.”
Rattlesnake Boy is out now and available where all good music is found
