Sola Rosa’s Andrew Spraggon talks to Thursday Morning Glory host Emma Gleason about his latest record, In The Mids, and imminent album tour. It kicks off in Auckland on Friday May 22 at Double Whammy, before travelling to Hawkes Bay, Nelson, Christchurch, New Plymouth and Wellington. Expect live interpretations of the album's tracks and reworked music from his extensive archive, plus (excitingly) an audio-visual element. Tickets are available here.
Tareq Baconi is a Palestinian writer, scholar, and activist. His 2018 book on Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas Contained, was shortlisted for a Palestine book award.
His coming-of-age memoir, Fire in Every Direction, was published late last year. Described by Isabella Hammad, author of Enter Ghost, as “moving and generous”, it spans Beirut, Amman, and London while remaining distinctly Palestinian.

Olivia Reeves Is a young independent indie/rock artist from Tāmaki Makaurau who has worked her way through the competition sphere; Winning solo/duo for New Found Sound and being a two time finalist for Play It Strange!
Her set today was unlike anything else we've heard from her as she leans into are more heavy yet catchy guitar sound.
