It was quite the party on Rāmere Drive! Beth Torrance kicked things off with the first Friday Live of the evening, playing several tracks from her just-released EP in the bFM lounge to a crowd of vollies and staff. Then LIPS turned things up a notch for the second Friday Live and played their new track with E From EELS, plus a couple more to get us all excited for their Halloween show with Thee Golden Geese! Elle spoke to Cate Le Bon on the emotional core of her latest album Michaelangelo Dying. Le Bon’s thematic arc of the album, an enigmatic take on the pit of heart break. Sonically dense and laden in synths Le Bon revels in the throes of heart ache, though her disarming and earnest narrative threads.
